Project Overview

The Medical Tower at Tuscan Court is the first phase / building of a new $75m renovation and expansion of the Magee General Hospital.

Patient and family-centered amenities create a serene atmosphere within the atrium where visitors can enjoy various shops, splurge in the coffee shop, and relax in one of the comfortable seating areas.

The new MOB provides convenient access to the Magee General Hospital and supports the local private physician groups serving the rural community. The facility also supports the hospital’s outpatient programs not requiring more complex hospital facilities.

The building is designed to keep related services together housing specialty clinics including orthopedics, neurology, cardiology, OB/GYN, ophthalmology, optical sales and a pharmacy.

Magee General Hospital (MGH) is a 64-bed general acute care hospital with 8 geriatric psychiatric beds. The hospital is owned by Magee Benevolent Association and governed by an eight-member Board of Trustees.

Lately ‘being green” has garnered a lot of buzz, not just as a responsibility but as patient-centered and profitable. Designing the MOB in accordance to green-principles offers many benefits that may accrue as a result of this effort, including fewer medical errors, better healthcare outcomes and patient satisfaction, higher staff retention and morale, and greater operational savings.
