Stegenga + PARTNERS worked methodically with the client to understand the needs of the medical professionals and the expectations of the patients. By collaborating closely with orthopedic specialists and physical therapists, we applied invaluable insights into their workflows, desired patient experiences, and technical requirements. The aligned vision was to create a functional space, fostering a healing environment for patients and a conducive workspace for medical staff.
A key to the success of the Center is the streamlined patient experience and efficient workflow. The Orthopedic Center is divided into zones that cater to different stages of patient care; the MRI, Physical Therapy (PT) and Clinic suites.
The MRI Suite offers privacy and convenience to patients undergoing imaging procedures. The PT Suite boasts a dynamic space that caters to various physical therapy modalities while promoting a sense of community and support. The Clinic Suite embodies our commitment to a patient-centric design. The exam modules are designed to facilitate smooth patient flow, ensuring acoustical and visual privacy, and therapeutic efficiency during consultations and procedures.
The facility’s interior layout optimizes patient flow, ensuring easy navigation for both patients and medical staff. Bright, open spaces, high ceilings, and strategically placed artwork create an inviting atmosphere that encourages optimism and a positive mindset for patients on their road to recovery. The digital imaging suite is equipped with the latest MRI and x-ray scan technology, giving the Care Team access to the highest quality medical imaging.
Patient comfort and well-being are the driving forces behind the design elements in the Orthopedic Center. The welcoming reception areas are designed to put patients at ease, with warm tones, soothing lighting, and comfortable seating. Waiting areas are strategically placed near windows, offering vistas of the outdoors to create a calming atmosphere. The exam rooms are spacious, with carefully curated interiors, providing privacy and a sense of hospitality during visits.
The facility is also designed to support a new second floor ambulatory surgery center (ASC) and a complete VRF mechanical system was installed to allow multiple indoor units to run on the same system, providing flexibility in heating and cooling simultaneously. A future emergency generator will also be protected in the service garden for use during power outages or natural disasters.
