Project Overview

The Medical Pavilion in Raleigh, Mississippi is a means for Magee General Hospital to bring much needed medical care to neighboring Smith County. The facility, constructed over 15 years ago, was not originally designed to serve as a healthcare facility.

User groups clearly articulated a vision for the Raleigh Clinic: a facility distinguished by a healthy, nurturing environment that improves clinical outcomes. Elements were carefully chosen to make patients and visitors more comfortable, helping speed healing, and make it easier for providers to do their job efficiently and safety.

The exam modules were designed to protect dignity and improve safety. Each module is same-handed, with lighting and temperature that can be adjusted for provider-need and patient comfort.

In-house imaging and a drive-thru pharmacy serves the needs of this rural community, providing convenient access to their imaging and pharmaceutical needs.

Serving the rural community is a collaboration between MGH and the local providers. The constant cutbacks on Medicare reimbursement combined with the rising demand for healthcare services and greater consumer expectations serve as key drivers for organizations to get creative and to work together to find needed resources that support dependable, high-quality services.
