Cancer Care Associates is a new freestanding medical oncology center in Fresno, California.
Planned to serve more than 15,000 infusion therapy patients per year, this two-story building is designed to support patients and families in a quite, healing environment of warm colors, focal lighting, and natural elements of stone and wood.
Each infusion area has a unique theme and provides wireless access, digital entertainment and music. Alternatively, patients can retreat to a spa-like environment complete with an interior water fall.
The second floor serves as the clinical space, complete with exam rooms and physician modules that can support eight physicians seeing patients during a single clinic. Each module has enough exam rooms to support a physician seeing eight patients per hour, individual MD stations, and sub-wait areas.
A state-of-the-art laboratory is provided, with seven private phlebotomy stations providing patients with the convenience of having necessary blood work provided onsite.
A USP 797 Pharmaceutical Compounding lab provides onsite mixing and pharmacy support. This pharmacy is complete with two mixing hoods, clean room, barrier isolators, and support features for high-risk compounding.
A unique, Proton Emission Tomography imaging center completes the service offerings. PET imaging allows a physician to see three-dimensional images of a person’s particular organ or body system—an essential weapon in the war on cancer.
