The Center for Total Cancer Care located in Hawkinsville, is in the heart of Georgia and a historical crossroad of the South. The Center stands as a proud beacon of treatment and survival.
Located at the main entry to the Taylor Regional Medical Center, the Center provides a landmark to the community. The signature features of the Center strongly relates to both its environment and its community, and thus to patients, family members, and staff.
Designed for patient convenience, this multiuse facility houses all aspects of holistic, patient centered cancer care. The concept was to bring targeted cancer therapy to communities of Middle Georgia. The goal is to provide comprehensive treatment in one location that can meet the total needs of all cancer patients in the region.
The design’s intuitive wayfinding plan is organized around the way a patient is treated, and the interior is filled with natural light. Floor to ceiling glazing, clearstory windows, and tailored materials add to the openness of the Center.
The building has a combination of facilities for radiation and medical oncology, including diagnostic imaging, laboratory, infusion therapy, clinical exam, dosimetry and medical physics, and a community auditorium.
